Augment legendary gem diablo 31/3/2024 It's far more efficient to level your Augmenting gems until they are 90% or 80%, and then Augment with them.Įspecially for your first several augments.įor example, if you have 10 pieces of Ancient Gear with no Augments, you get the same benefit from two level 50 Augments as you do from one level 100 Augment, but it takes far less time to get those two level 50's. Of all the rules of thumb and general guidelines I see thrown about in relation to D3, I think the "level 80 Augments" is the worst one.Ī lot builds can't easily get to GR90, especially at low paragon, which implies that you're running 60% or even 30% upgrades to get those last few gem levels for those Augments. OTOH, if you're playing a build that struggles to hit GR70, you might well Augment with level 60 gems, so that you can push higher to level up gems more. If you are playing a build that can clear GR85 with no Augments, then you generally shouldn't be Augmenting with gems less than 75-80. The definition of "high level" and "mid level" will change as you progress in power. I don't Augment gear that I'm actively trying to replace until I have Augmented everything else. If my gems available for Augmenting are mid-level, I target gear that is very good, but not perfect. If my gems available for Augmenting with are fairly high level, I target the very best Ancients I have. When I feel like I'm hitting a wall, I try to drop 3-4 Augments on currently un-Augmented gear. I don't start implementing Augments until I feel like I'm hitting a wall. When my main gems (Trapped, etc) drop below 60% upgrade chance, I start upgrading gems for Augmenting. If you have zero augments right now, don't level up to a full boat of 80's before dropping them.Īlso, unless you're OCD about numbers, don't feel the need to every Augment to the be the same.
